On December 27, my father, Thomas Nafe, was killed in a tragic head-on collision. The other car crossed the yellow line and struck his vehicle, taking both his life and the life of his dog instantly. Although my father and I had been estranged for a long time and had not spoken in years, the news of his passing reached me early Sunday morning and left me in shock.
This loss is complicated and painful. My father was alone in the car, and despite our distance, I feel the weight of making sure he is laid to rest with dignity. If money were not an issue, I would place him with his parents—my grandparents—in California, so he could find peace. I know that nobody deserves to experience such a tragedy, and my heart goes out to the family of the other person involved in the accident. I am deeply sorry for their loss and hope they find peace in time.
I never imagined I would be in a position to ask for help, but this is the direction I was told most people take in situations like this. The funds raised here will go directly toward giving my father a proper burial and helping our family find closure. Any support you can offer, no matter how small, means the world to me. Thank you for your kindness and for helping us honor Thomas’s memory.
