Our family needs your help as we say goodbye to Shawn Hicks.

My brother, Shawn passed away Saturday, February 7th, after struggling with cancer and while he never stopped fighting this disease, his body finally surrendered and now he can finally find peace.

We are planning to get Shawn to his final reseting place at Wyuka cemetery in Lincoln, NE.

This page has been set up to ask for assistance with funeral expenses, as well as helping to fund a celebration of his life. Any contribution is welcome.

So many people knew Shawn. He was a talented musician and he could play nearly anything on guitar. Music was a big part of his life and we often spoke about the new music ideas he had planned.

Shawn also had so many other interests and I can't list them all. Some highlights would be his love of gardening (especially growing tomatoes), anime, Nintendo, driving to and roaming around Lincoln, watching old TV shows, to his absolute love of football. He had a lot of favorite teams but his great love was with the Kansas State Wildcats and the Kansas City Chiefs. Also the Seattle Seahawks! It would have been so great for Shawn to see the Seahawks win the Super Bowl!

While I could go on about Shawn, I know this would be from my little corner of his life. We were brothers only separated by eleven months in age and we shared a connection across so much. I know that he touched so many people with his kind and silly way and I can’t wait to hear about all the tales of what I don’t know about my brother.

Thank you for being a big part of my life, little brother.
