My name is Yohana, and I’m reaching out to my community to help my family bring my uncle’s body home to his final resting place.

My uncle Samuel passed tragically and unexpectedly while swimming at his local beach in Perth, Australia. Sammy loved the water and was an Ethiopian Navy officer for many years before moving to Yemen as a refugee in the late '80s and '90s, before eventually settling in Perth, Australia.

Sammy grew up in a loving family in Wolaita Sodo. Living away from his family was very difficult, but after his father’s passing in 2018, he tried to visit his surviving siblings more regularly. He was planning a trip in the middle of March (3 weeks before he passed).

We’re asking for your assistance with his funeral home-going expenses as we lay his body to his final resting place with his parents.
