My father, Roy, passed away unexpectedly, and I am asking for your help to give him the respectful and dignified farewell he deserves. Anyone who knew Roy knew the love he had for Jamaica. He was proud of where he came from and carried that pride with him everywhere he went. He often spoke about the memories, the family, and the peace he felt there, and he returned home whenever he could.

Roy was the kind of man who took care of everyone around him. If someone was hungry, he would sit them down and make sure they had a meal to share. In our community, everyone knew him. For more than 50 years he played cards in the same seat, surrounded by friends and familiar faces. No matter what life brought his way, he never complained — he simply kept going and looked out for others. He leaves behind daughters who love him deeply, and I have taken on the responsibility of making sure he is laid to rest properly.

Unfortunately, there were no funds set aside for funeral or memorial expenses, and the costs are more than we can manage on our own. Even the smallest contribution helps us get closer to giving Roy the farewell he deserves. The funds will go toward funeral and memorial services, burial or cremation expenses, and related end-of-life costs.
