Riley Lee Cummings was a beloved member of our community and a devoted father to his son, Caleb. My uncle Riley was diagnosed with colon cancer, and despite our hopes and efforts, the cancer spread much faster than we ever expected. It reached his brain, which tragically cut off his breathing. After he stopped breathing for over an hour, we were able to get him breathing again, but a week later, Riley was declared brain dead. This has been an incredibly difficult time for our family and everyone who knew and loved Riley.
Riley touched so many lives with his kindness and generosity. He was always there for his friends, family, and neighbors, and his loss is felt deeply by all who knew him. Now, we are facing the heartbreaking task of saying goodbye and giving him the farewell he deserves. The funds raised will go directly toward covering Riley’s funeral costs so we can lay him to rest with dignity. Any remaining funds will be given to his son, Caleb, to help support him as he navigates this unimaginable loss.
I’m asking the community as well as family to please participate and send anything they can. Every contribution, no matter the size, will help us honor Riley’s memory and support Caleb during this difficult time. Thank you for your kindness, support, and for keeping Riley and our family in your thoughts.
