When I found Ranger, he was listed for $1 on Craigslist, he was neglected, had never been indoors, and needed someone almost as much as I needed him. Ranger was neglected to a point where affection was foreign to him, and he was never played with as a puppy, so he never learned or understood how to play, however despite being as alone as he was, I earned his trust. I earned his love. I showed him love for the first time, and he gave his entire life devotionally to mine.
I struggle with severe mental illnesses.
i NEVER had to train Ranger to be my service animal, and that’s what makes him so fucking special dude. He would lay his entire body over mine to keep me from harming myself during my episodes.
Even these last years during his battles with dementia, every time, everything that stressed me, every little discomfort I had, he was always always at my side, and made sure I knew it.
Ranger made it all the way to 18 years.
I am blessed beyond belief for that.
5 years ago Ranger was paralyzed for two weeks, I refused to give up on him and got him properly medicated and he left everyone amazed by pulling through.
I’ve spent hundreds on his meds every month and vet appointments to keep him well, and I’d do it for the rest of my life if he lived that long.
As someone who lives paycheck to paycheck paying rent in California it wasn’t easy but worth it every time.
Rangers euthanizing and cremation costs have left me with a substantial debt, my apartment also raised my rent by $200 this month, I was already struggling to afford groceries before raising my rent, now that I’ve lost Ranger too, I’m just trying to help make ends meet.
My goal here is to simply break even, I’m looking for nothing more than what I need. Any help at all would mean the world to me, anything would take weight off my shoulders right now.
Simply sharing this around would mean just as much to me that you thought of us.
Thank you so much for helping me get my son back.
i love you Ragnarök, i miss you terribly
my life will never be the same.
