My mother was a caring person who would go above and beyond to help anyone in need if she had the means. Growing up, our relationship had its ups and downs, but over the last year, I was grateful to reconnect and become close to her again. Her unexpected passing just three days before Christmas has left a huge void in our lives, especially after losing my grandmother only five months earlier. One of the hardest parts is that I didn't have the chance to surprise her with the news that she had another grandchild on the way—I was waiting until Christmas Eve to tell her.

Now, it’s just my little sister, my brother, and me trying to put our mother to rest. I am six months pregnant and already caring for three children, all under 5, so finances are extremely tight. The emotional and financial toll of losing two loved ones in such a short time has been overwhelming. We want nothing more than to give our mother the respectful farewell she deserves, but we simply don’t have the resources to do it on our own.
