My mom was a sweet, gentle person who loved being outside and gardening. She always enjoyed the company of others, reaching out to family and friends, and cherishing every conversation and connection. Her caring, compassionate nature meant she was always there for those she loved, and she worked tirelessly to provide for our family. Even when she was sick, she rarely missed work, often taking double shifts as a waitress at a local Mexican restaurant to make ends meet. She pushed through every challenge with quiet strength and determination.
Tragically, my mom battled breast cancer for years without telling anyone, wanting to protect us from worry. She fought long and hard until her last breath, passing away on March 27, 2026. She leaves behind three children, the youngest just 15 and still in high school, and we were not ready to say goodbye. Her passing is truly devastating for us, and even more so because the majority of her family, including her own mother, are in Mexico and are unable to come here to grieve her loss with us. They are heartbroken, far away, and feel helpless not being able to be here for her and our family. Because her passing was so sudden and she had little savings, we are now facing significant financial hardship. She did not have insurance and was paid in tips, making it difficult to cover the medical bills from her clinic visits, her final days in the hospital, and the costs of arranging her funeral.
Any support is deeply appreciated. We aren’t asking for much—only what is in the hearts of everyone to give. Please help us lay our hardworking, selfless mother to rest and relieve some of the stress during this tragic time. Even if you cannot help by donating, please help by praying for our family and sharing this fundraiser. Keep us in your prayers for the strength we need during this time.
