Help Lay Our Beloved Angel to Rest

Dear community,

It is with heavy hearts and profound sadness that we share the news of the passing of our dearest Dr. Anastasia “Star” Rizos, a 60-year-old woman who fought a brave battle against stage 4 breast cancer. Star left us on Sunday February 11th, 2024, leaving behind a void that cannot be filled.

In addition to breast cancer, Star had been dealing with various health issues for years. Since losing her mother in June 2021, Star’s health declined, was unable to work, and financially support herself. In the face of this tragedy, we are reaching out to our community for support. Unfortunately, due to her difficult situation she has no remaining funds. We are now faced with the daunting task of ensuring she receives a dignified farewell in the Greek Orthodox Church.

Compounding the difficulty of this situation is the fact that Star has no blood relatives in the United States to assist with the financial burden. As her extended spiritual family, friends, and community members, we are coming together to honor her memory and provide her with the farewell she deserves.

Funeral expenses can be overwhelming, and in these challenging times, any contribution, no matter how small, can make a significant difference.
