My father, Oscar Martinez, came from El Salvador in the early 1990s, escaping the civil war that tore through his homeland. He dreamed of a better life for his children and his parents, and he worked tirelessly every day to make that dream a reality. He means everything to me, and it’s hard to believe he is so young—he was about to turn 58 next week. None of us expected to lose him so soon.
His last wish is to be buried back in El Salvador, next to his mother, so he can rest in peace in the place he called home. He leaves behind two young daughters, just 8 and 11 years old, who will miss him dearly. The funds raised will help cover the costs of his funeral and the transportation needed to fulfill his final wish.
Your support means everything to me and my family as we go through this painful time. I take your support to heart and will always be grateful that God put it in your heart to help us. Thank you for helping us honor my father’s memory and give him the farewell he deserves.
