It is with heavy hearts that we share the sudden and unexpected passing of our beloved aunt, Nina Kocher, on May 26, 2025, at her home in Newton, Kansas.

Nina was a quiet force of kindness — someone who gave endlessly and expected nothing in return. Over the years, she called several places home, including Hutchinson and Little River, Kansas, and in each place, she left behind a trail of kindness, warm memories, and full hearts.

She spent her life working as a cook in restaurants throughout Hutchinson. To her, food wasn’t just a job — it was a way to care for people, to bring comfort, and to make others feel at home. Whether you knew her well or met her only once, Nina made you feel like family.

Nina experienced great sorrow in her final years, having recently lost her son. She used all of her savings to give him the respectful burial he deserved — a final act of devotion from a mother whose love knew no limits. Tragically, she has now passed before having a chance to rebuild.

Now, her only child and our family is left to say goodbye without the financial means to cover her final expenses. We are humbly asking for help from anyone whose life Nina touched — whether in Hutchinson, Little River, Newton, or beyond.
