Help Lay Navy Veteran Ava Marie Reyes to Rest
Donation protected
Update: I have changed the goal from $3,200 to $2,200 due to a most generous donation from the American Legion Post 575 out of Lubbock! Thank you all for continuing to donate to this great need!
We’re reaching out on behalf of the family of Ava Marie Reyes—a proud U.S. Navy veteran, a devoted daughter and sister, and a loving mother of five beautiful children. Ava dedicated her life to serving others, both in the military and later as a correctional officer at the Formby and Wheeler Units in Plainview, Texas.
She was a strong, compassionate woman who loved her family deeply. She found joy in traveling, especially to Florida, and in spending time at church and with loved ones. Ava was the kind of person who showed up for others—and now, in the wake of her sudden and unexpected passing, we want to show up for her.
Her family is doing everything they can to cover her funeral expenses, and while some generous donations have come in, there is still a remaining balance of just under $3,200. It’s a heavy burden to carry while grieving.
We’re asking the veteran community and the Lubbock community—who have always stood strong for their own—to help give Ava the farewell she deserves. Your support, whether through a donation or by sharing this campaign, means everything.
Let’s come together to honor Ava’s life, her service, and her legacy of love.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
