Hello, my name is Lexy, and I’m creating this fundraiser on behalf of my niece, my great-niece, and our family after an unimaginable tragedy.

On Monday, November 3rd, around 3:00 PM, my 22-year-old niece was tragically taken from us in a head-on car accident just two minutes from home while on her way to pick up family from school.

The country road was narrow, hilly, full of blind spots, and without center lines. The drivers simply didn’t see one another until it was too late.

I’m doing this to raise funds to lay my niece to rest, to support her 2-year-old daughter who has lost her mother far too soon, and to help my brother, who is now facing the unimaginable.

Tiyana—my “Chocolate Drop”—was a beautiful, loving, and vibrant young woman with so much life ahead of her. She was a devoted mother whose entire world revolved around her baby girl.

This loss has been especially painful for my brother, my nieces father. He lost her mother when she was just 3 years old, and only a few years ago, he also lost his mother and maternal grandmother within six weeks of each other. Now he faces another heartbreaking loss while stepping into the role of full-time caregiver for his granddaughter.

To make things even harder, my brother was scheduled to move the very day of the accident, which has added another layer of financial strain not to mention he has to pass the scene of the accident every day going to and from home. He’s never been one to ask for help but I want to do everything I can to ease his burden without him having to.

We’re reaching out to friends, family, and the community for help, prayers, and support as we navigate this heartbreaking time.

• Toddler essentials (diapers, pull-ups, wipes, hygiene items, laundry detergent — all the small things that quickly add up)

• Clothing (2T / size 6 shoes, preparing for 3T / size 7)

• Educational toys and books — she’s bright, talkative, and already loves to learn, count, and sing her ABCs

• Food and other daily necessities
