I am Samuel, Martha’s son. I hope this message finds you well, although I must admit that my heart is heavy as I write these words. It is with deep sadness and a profound sense of loss that I share the news of the unexpected passing of my beautiful mom, Martha Hibbs Vile. Her sudden departure has left us in an indescribable state of grief and disbelief.

About my mom:

She was not only a kind-hearted individual, but someone who found joy in the simplest moments of life. Her love knew no bounds, extending beyond blood ties, as she always showed up for those who needed an extra dose of affection. One of my favorite sayings from her is, “Follow your dreams, as one day you will achieve them.” My mom was the type of individual to put her problems aside as long as everyone around her was well. Her passing has left me in disbelief; she will be extremely missed, never forgotten. She was soon to be a grandmother. It's heartbreaking to think she isn’t able to meet her granddaughter, and her granddaughter will not be able to meet her loving grandmother. I know my mom will always be watching and protecting her as the kind-hearted person she once was.

In addition to the immense emotional toll I am experiencing, I now find myself grappling with an unforeseen financial burden. My mom fought a battle for a long time. She had heart failure, liver failure, and passed away in a diabetic coma. My mom was a warrior; I will never forget seeing her suffer but still give a bright smile. She was my light and soul; when she passed away, half of me went with her. Simply speaking to my mom, she would make any dark tunnel turn into light just by listening to her. She would always give a hand to hold.
