My grandmother recently passed away after a series of heartbreaking events. She suffered a fall and was placed in a nursing rehab center, where she developed severe wounds, sepsis, staph, UTI, and MRSA. After being transferred to Bethesda North, her condition worsened. She wanted to spend her final days with me and my husband in our new home, but arrived before supplies and support were ready. My husband and I are Newly Weds also and just moved into our home beginning of March. Then we faced urgent expenses for her care, and after a brief stay, she was moved to Hospice of Cincinnati, where she passed peacefully. We discovered her life insurance policies had been cashed out by my half sister, leaving almost nothing for final expenses.
969899Now, we are trying to lay her to rest as she wished, but the costs are overwhelming. The funds raised will help cover funeral home expenses, memorial service, a few medical bills that weren't covered, and other final costs. My husband is a disabled combat veteran and I am disabled myself, we have combined 5 children which 2 are actively serving in the Army, 2 in school, which need help time to time with last minute required supples etc, so we simply do not have the amount needed on the spot. The funeral home requires payment before they can finish laying her to rest, and there are no funds left from her insurance.
Thank you so much for your help and support in showing my sweet Grandmother that people do care for her and love her a pinch of what she gave to all she met. She came from a large family but most her siblings have passed the rest are out of state. Not many did much for her she gave her body and life to working in nursing home for mentally disabled and still no compassion from someone that was not only blood but grandma did everything for to steal from her beat her and scare her. Strangers have loved and showed her better care especially Hospice of Cincinnati doing the Honor Walk for my Grandmother,Husband, and myself the only family that could go set with her body till funeral home came, it was very sweet and touching how many showed their love to her since her family that loved and cared for her couldn't be here in time. Thank you all so very much and God Bless you all!!!
