Hi, my family and I are seeking donations to help lay my father to rest. This will help us with his cremation and picking a better urn and providing memorial services that he well deserves. Also for any expenses he may have and to help my mother who is in a nursing home. Anything helps and my sister, mother and I would greatly appreciate it. Carlos Moreno Valdez was born 11/05/1966 in Roseville, CA. Grew up and lived in Oak Park, Sacramento, CA. He worked for Fuller O’Brien/Glidden/PPG Paints for over 20 years. He was married to my mother for almost 34 years. Together for 37 years. Myself (Vanessa) and sister Melissa are his only children. Naomi is his only granddaughter. Nevaeh, his longtime dog companion of 15 years. My dad was a man who loved to have a good time with chill people. He loved to crack open a can of beer, throw on some oldies and old school and just sit outside enjoying his bbq with his wife and children. He was the biggest jokester around. If you knew him, you would know him well for his crude humor. Yea that’s dad! He was a longtime gambler of horse racing. Earliest memories are of going to the horse track with my dad. His teams were the RAIDERS, Oakland A’s, Sac Kings and Sac Rivercats. My dad battled a rare cancer that caused tumors along his spine. he went into surgery, radiation and multiple infusions to battle them. He overcame it and his cancer…the doctors were uncertain that he would survive or that if he would ever get his mobility back. My dad proved them wrong and he was able to regain strength in his hands and legs and though it wasn’t a full recovery, he was about 80% better in mobility. No matter his situation, my dad always made sure he would visit my mom in her nursing home and made time to call us and check on us. He loved his wife, daughters and granddaughter so much. we were his world and he was ours. He was our protector. And he is gonna be so missed. Please pray for my mom and my dad’s soul. We appreciate it greatly. Thank you.
