Please help me lay my child Maddy to rest

Hi, my name is Joe Martinez. I started this page because my child Madeleine passed away in a very dark place. My child was beautiful and an absolute ball of light. She was a joy to be around and had a will and courage that could move mountains. Maddy always marched to the beat of her own drum and was an inspiration to her entire family. She had her struggles, but she always took time for family and to let those around her know that she appreciated them and that they were cherished by her. But Maddy just could never find the peace in life that she so deserved. As a father, I feel that I have failed her totally in this life, so I do not want to fail her in death.

Maddy's funeral expenses are estimated at approximately $4,000, and we want to hold a memorial to celebrate the amazing life she lived and the amazing human that she was with friends and family. We will have more details soon for anyone that wishes to come and pay their respects. Any donations to helping our family make this possible will be very much appreciated. This year has been a very difficult one, and it is hard to find reasons to stay in a world that does not include Maddy. Maddy was a beloved child, sibling, parent, and member of the LGBTQ community who just wanted to belong. She is survived by so many people who loved her and will do everything they can to make sure her light continues to shine in those who cared about her and will work toward making change so other transgender men and women do not have to face the same challenges she did.
