My dad who was my best friend, “person” and the only close family that I had left; recently and unexpectedly passed away on Christmas Day. I had a severely disabled sister Renee who my father raised as a single parent due to my mother’s absence. He did an excellent job in an impossible task-raising two girls alone. He played both the roles of mom and dad in our lives. My dad was an honest person who always spoke his truth and taught me to do the same. He always looked on the bright side of everything, and hoped for the best outcomes. He was a dreamer and also deeply grounded in his faith. My dad taught me not to dwell in sadness, anger or unhappiness but to revel in the joys that life has to offer, no matter how small. I know it’s the holiday season, but I am alone and asking for assistance. I want to lay my father to rest next to my sister Renee who has already passed; they deserve to be together. I have tried my best to shoulder the burden of my parents lack of planning, but at this point without help it doesn’t seem possible. My goal is to get his body from Arizona (where he died) to California (where I live) so that he can be laid to rest next to my sister. Unfortunately my father had nothing pre prepared or set up in advance, so I’m in need of help financially not only for transport of the body but also for a burial plot near my sister. I have no resources to draw from to make this happen and my only wish is that he have a final resting place that he so deeply deserves. My father was proudly Jewish and I’m hoping to receive help from the Jewish Federation or any other organizations or resources that may be available to help. Please reach out if you have any other information as I’m in desperate and urgent need. Thank you for your time.
