It is with saddened hearts that we share the tragic loss of our beloved 21-year-old son, father, grandson, brother, cousin, and friend, Matthew Jhameil Anderson (Poppa), who was senselessly taken away from us on October 16th, 2025, in Sacramento.

Matthew was shot and killed Thursday night. There is still an active investigation, and we are still fighting for answers. It has left our entire family shaken by grief. Matthew leaves behind his 2-year-old daughter and a host of siblings, cousins, and friends. He also leaves behind his 74-year-old grandmother who he helped take care of financially and physically.

Always willing to help out the best he can Matthew took his grandmother to doctors appointments, church, and running errands. With his passing his grandmother is left with the financial burden to cover funeral costs and expenses as she is on a fixed income, it is hard for her to pay for all of the funeral costs that he deserves.

We are asking for any donations from our friends, family, and community to help lay Matthew to rest.
