Malik Green was my baby brother, and losing him so suddenly has left our family heartbroken. On Saturday afternoon, Malik was killed in South Philadelphia, stabbed in the chest just days after celebrating his 30th birthday. He was excited to start his city job, and his future was full of promise. Malik had no insurance to cover funeral expenses, and we never imagined we would be facing this tragedy so soon.

Malik was known to everyone as 'Earz,' and he brought joy and laughter wherever he went. He was a pain in the behind sometimes, but he was always the life of the party, guaranteed to make any gathering unforgettable. He leaves behind two beautiful children—a 9-year-old daughter and a 6-year-old son named after him—who will miss him dearly. Our family is struggling to cover the costs of his funeral and burial, and if anything is left over, it will go to support his children as they navigate life without their father.
