In Loving Memory of Lynda Baker
My mom, Lynda Baker, was a wonderful mother and grandmother. Her smile could light up the entire room. She was loving, giving, caring, and incredibly forgiving—one of the most beautiful souls you could ever meet.
Out of the blue, she began experiencing symptoms like full-body itching, loss of appetite, and frequent falls. After some blood work, her primary doctor immediately sent her to the ER. Her liver function tests were off the charts. Scans revealed a large mass in her bile duct, suspected to be cancer. Following an ERCP, the biopsy came back negative for malignancy, and we were hopeful.
She scheduled surgery to remove the mass, which initially went well, though she required several blood transfusions. The next day, she went into cardiac arrest due to internal bleeding and had to undergo emergency surgery. Miraculously, she pulled through, was taken off the ventilator, and began to breathe on her own.
Then came devastating news: pathology results revealed a rare and aggressive cancer—cholangiocarcinoma (bile duct cancer). Still, she fought bravely and was showing signs of improvement, which gave us hope. But on Saturday, April 20th, everything changed. Her organs began to fail—her kidneys, liver, and respiratory system were overwhelmed. On Monday, April 21st, my mom's heart stopped again. Despite resuscitation efforts, she passed away at 11:56 AM.
My mom was denied life insurance due to pre-existing medical conditions such as seizures and coronary artery disease. We were not financially prepared for such a sudden and tragic loss, and now we're facing the heartbreaking burden of funeral and burial expenses.
I’ve created this GoFundMe to ask for help in honoring her memory and giving her the proper farewell she deserves. Any contribution, big or small, would mean the world to our family during this incredibly difficult time.
Thank you so much for your support, prayers, and kindness.
With love,
