It is with heavy hearts that we share the tragic loss of Kaya, a bright and loving 23-year-old, who was taken from us far too soon in an unforeseen accident. Kaya touched the lives of everyone she met with her kindness, laughter, and generous spirit.

Kaya was truly full of life and always seemed to radiate happiness wherever she went. She had a thoughtful soul—always curious about the world, always striving to understand rather than judge. When it came to important issues, Kaya never simply picked a side; she took the time to research, to educate herself, and to consider all perspectives.

She loved her family deeply, and her dog Hanja was her loyal companion. Kaya loved people and always made others feel accepted and valued. She could be so wonderfully goofy at times, bringing smiles and laughter to those around her. Her warmth and unique spirit made her a truly lovely girl, and she will be missed by many.

Kaya’s passing has left an unimaginable void in the life of her devoted mother, Janelle, who is now facing the overwhelming task of saying goodbye to her beloved daughter. As a single mother, she has always done everything in her power to provide for Kaya, but the suddenness of this loss, combined with mounting emergency medical bills, has left her in a difficult financial position.

Kaya is planned to be laid to rest in Indiana, close to family and cherished memories. We are reaching out to ask for your help in making this possible. The costs of transporting her from California to Indiana, arranging the funeral and memorial service, and managing outstanding medical expenses are more than Janelle can bear alone.
