On August 25th, our beloved Estella Katrina Buchanan-Nguyen passed away unexpectedly after her courageous battle with glioblastoma, a rare brain cancer. Just two weeks earlier, she underwent surgery to remove the cancer. We were hopeful for her recovery, but during that time she suffered a sudden brain aneurysm. Despite every effort, she left us far too soon.
Katrina was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She was the heart of her family—the one who never hesitated to help others, whose laughter could fill a room, and whose love and generosity touched everyone she met.
Her passing has left her husband, children, and grandchildren heartbroken and struggling to manage the unexpected costs of funeral and burial services. Expenses are expected to reach $10,000–$15,000, including even a modest $1,500 headstone. Because Katrina had been unable to work for over a year due to her illness, there are no savings to cover these costs.
Our hope is to lay Katrina to rest beside our mother, who passed in 2019. Bringing them together again brings comfort to our grieving family and gives us peace knowing she will be surrounded by love for eternity.
We are asking our family, friends, and community for help. Our goal is to raise $10,000 to provide Katrina with the dignified farewell she deserves.
Please consider donating today—any amount, no matter the size, will help us reach this goal. If you are not able to contribute, you can still help by sharing this page with others who may wish to support her family during this time of sorrow.
From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for your compassion, generosity, and prayers.
Your kindness will help us lay Katrina to rest beside our mother and give her family the strength to carry on.
