Tragically with great sadness, I am asking for help to bury my son, Kahlif Abdul Rector, who passed away at just 19 years old. Kahlif was a bright, ambitious young man who recently graduated from Dorman High School, earned his driver’s license, and completed his HVAC certificate at the Master Skill Center in South Carolina. He returned to New Jersey to pursue a career in the HVAC Union, passing the exam to join Local 68 Operator Union in Atlantic City. He continued his education with advanced classes in electric HVAC and building maintenance, all while working for the Atlantic City Youth Program, a bike shop, Wendy’s, Dunkin Donuts, and most recently, Six Flags Great Adventure. He was waiting to be placed in a casino to begin his career.
Kahlif was a God-fearing child who only wanted to be his best and stand out. Tragically, he was influenced by TikTok videos and took a weight loss pill that he believed would help him reach his goals. The drug, once outlawed, was brought back in 2017 and became accessible to him. His sudden passing has left our family devastated and in need of support to cover funeral expenses.
I am reaching out to friends, family, and the community for help during this unimaginable time. Any support, prayers, or shares are deeply appreciated as we honor Kahlif’s memory and lay him to rest.I lost my son in a tragic way. He came home from work on Friday seeing on monitors as a vibrant young man. I arrived home on Saturday and found my son unresponsive and no way of recovery. I couldn't get any answers nor could I hear my son's Voice once again. This unexpected tragedy has left us in a financial situation. Our family is seeking donations to help us bury our loved one who was only 19 years old. Although the answers may come later as to his tragedy, in the meantime we still have to prepare a funeral service for him. All kind donations will be appreciated by our family. Thank you God bless and stay safe.
