My father, Renato "Junior" Fernando passed away suddenly at the early age of 54 on Saturday, February 21, 2026. He was a true and cherished friend to many, the cool uncle, the little baby brother among 7 siblings, and, most of all, a devoted and loving father to his two sons, Brandon and Jarrell.

My father was loved by so many because he poured love into everyone he met. He was present in every conversation, and to call him kind would be an understatement. He truly was the life of the party, with a contagious smile and laugh that could light up any room. Above all else, he was the biggest 49ers fan you could ever meet.

I had the privilege of growing up and becoming really close to his close friends. I was always reminded of how amazing a friend he was. He was more than a friend; he was a kuya (older brother) to others, he was a humble leader, and he was a cherished companion who always made time to hang out and brought out the best in everyone he interacted with. My father had your back when you needed it most, and he never made anyone feel left out. His joy was infectious. As one friend shared, 'He was a genuinely good human being, always cool, always happy. What I remember most is his smile. To be honest, I don’t think I ever saw him unhappy.'

His passing has left a huge hole in our hearts and our lives. As we navigate this difficult time, we are faced with the unexpected expenses of his funeral.
