Juan was diagnosed with stage 4 colon cancer during the holidays, a time that should have been filled with joy and togetherness. Instead, our family was faced with the devastating news that changed our lives forever. Despite the best efforts of his medical team, Juan was recently hospitalized, placed on comfort care, and passed away surrounded by his loved ones. He leaves behind his devoted wife and young daughter.
Juan was so much more than his illness—he was a beloved husband, father, son, brother, uncle, nephew, cousin, and friend. To those who knew him, Juan was a serious man, but he always found a way to make us laugh with his jokes. If Juan were here, he would probably tell us to stop crying and take a drink in his honor, reminding us to celebrate his life rather than mourn his passing.
My mother, Ana, is organizing this fundraiser to help cover the funeral expenses and ensure that Juan can be laid to rest with dignity and peace. The financial burden of these costs is overwhelming for our family, and we want to honor Juan’s memory in the way he deserves. We are reaching out to friends, family, and our community for support during this incredibly difficult time. Any contribution, no matter the size, will help us give Juan the farewell he deserves and provide comfort to his wife and daughter. Thank you for your kindness, generosity, and for keeping our family in your thoughts.
