My name is Shaneequa Washington and I am the mother of a 8 year old beautiful baby boy, Josiah. On March 20, 2025, my son was involved in a horrible incident where his life was tragically lost. This devastating event has changed the trajectory of my life and my children’s. My 6 children and I are displaced and planning a funeral. Josiah was a very sweet, funny, and intelligent young man. A few of his favorite things were the Power Rangers, Harry Potter, and anything to do with vampires and werewolves. His most enjoyment, however, came from school! His favorite subjects were math and science, and he consistently made the A/B honor roll. To those who loved and knew him, we fondly called him JoJo. Music was JoJo’s solace, and he loved to sing and dance.

This is a parent’s worst fear, to have to lay your child to rest before you exit this earth. There is no type of preparation for this tragedy. I am humbly reaching out to my community and those that God places on your heart to help me lay my boy to rest. Any help is greatly appreciated. I thank you from the bottom of my heart.
