Our family is heartbroken to share that our beloved brother, Joseph Montanero, passed away suddenly after a brief and aggressive battle with thymic carcinoma. On August 11th, Joseph went to the emergency room with chest pain, swollen feet, and stomach discomfort. Just two days later, he was diagnosed with thymic carcinoma, a rare and aggressive cancer of the thymus gland. Within five days of his diagnosis, Joseph was gone. He was only 46 years old.
Joseph was a devoted father to his daughter Alexis and Paris and a loving brother to me, Diane, and our sister Mary. He cherished his family above all else, and his warmth and kindness touched everyone who knew him. Joseph leaves behind many nieces and nephews who adored him. Our family is still in shock from this sudden loss, and we are struggling to come to terms with his passing while I am also undergoing treatment for stage 4 cancer.
Unfortunately, Joseph did not have insurance or savings, and we are not prepared for the costs of a funeral or cremation. We are reaching out to our community in Philadelphia and beyond for help to give Joseph the dignified farewell he deserves. Any support will go directly toward his cremation and will be deeply appreciated by our family. Thank you for your kindness and generosity during this difficult time.
