Help Us Lay Johnie to Rest—A Grandfather, Craftsman, and True Friend

We’re heartbroken to share that Johnie Reed—beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend—passed away unexpectedly on May 2nd, 2025, from a sudden heart attack. He was 56 years old. After surviving cancer not once, but twice, we all believed Johnie had many more years ahead. He had just started regaining his strength and was getting back into crafting—something he was incredibly talented at. His loss is a shock we’re still trying to comprehend.

Johnie is survived by his wife Chris, their children Lisa and Bradlee, and his two cherished grandchildren, Jonathan and Kabella, who lovingly called him Papa. Johnie adored his grandkids—they were his whole world. He and Chris even moved halfway across the country just to be closer to them. He fought cancer with everything he had because he wanted more time with them. And they knew it. His love and devotion will stay with them forever.

He was the kind of man who never hesitated to help someone in need. If he had it, he gave it. If he could help, he did. Now, it’s our turn to give back.

We’re raising funds to cover Johnie’s final expenses, and to help fulfill his last wish—to be laid to rest near his mother in Washington State. Johnie will be cremated here in Arkansas, and this summer, we hope to take his family to Washington to honor him with the farewell he deserves.
