Help Lay Jimmy Stone to Rest with Dignity
In Loving Memory of Jimmy
My name is Carole Ann Stone, and I’m raising funds to help lay my brother Jimmy to rest.
With a heavy heart, I share that Jimmy passed away this afternoon, peacefully under hospice care. His long and painful battle with esophageal cancer has come to an end, and while we are heartbroken, we are grateful he is no longer suffering. He fought bravely, held onto hope, and was surrounded by love in his final days.
Jimmy’s journey over the past year has been incredibly difficult. He was diagnosed with esophageal cancer on his birthday, June 3, 2024. Despite undergoing chemotherapy and radiation, the cancer spread aggressively to his lungs, heart, and around his aorta. After a brief period of remission in March 2025, the cancer returned with a vengeance in June. Within days, doctors told us there was nothing more they could do. Jimmy was placed on hospice and brought to our niece’s apartment, where we did everything we could to keep him comfortable and ensure he wasn’t alone.
Jimmy had already faced more than his share of hardships. Since our mother passed in 2018, he battled homelessness, serious health issues including Type 2 diabetes and two strokes, and struggled to survive on a fixed income. In May 2024, he finally secured a small HUD apartment in Hamilton, Texas — a place he could call his own. But just a month later, cancer changed everything.
He had no children, no savings, and no life insurance — just a small monthly Social Security check of $900. Now that he’s gone, I’m left to handle his cremation, final arrangements, and the task of clearing out his apartment. I, too, live on a fixed income, and I simply cannot do this alone.
That’s why I’m asking — humbly and from the bottom of my heart — for your support. Any donation, no matter the amount, will go directly toward:
Cremation and final arrangements
Clearing out Jimmy’s HUD apartment
Any remaining hospice-related costs
If you aren’t able to give, I ask for your prayers — for strength, peace, and comfort as we say goodbye to Jimmy and honor his life with dignity and love.
To everyone who has already donated, prayed, or shared kind words: thank you. Your compassion has helped carry me through the darkest of days. Please continue to share if you’re able — it truly means the world.
With love and deep gratitude,
Carole Ann Stone
