On August 1st, our family’s world changed forever. My uncle — a kind, gentle man who lived with challenges — passed away peacefully at home with my aunt Sally, who had lovingly cared for him for the past 23 years. He was more than his challenges. He was family — a brother, an uncle, and a great-uncle to two boys, who adored him. He faced many hardships in life, but he also had a soft smile, a great laugh, and a heart that reminded us that love and care are what truly matter. He had been in the hospital, and when it became clear he had gotten better to be home, Sally brought him back. He had been home two weeks and was in the place he knew best — surrounded by love. On the morning of August 1st, Sally found him, and he was gone. There was an insurance policy, but it has lapsed. We’ve found out that there is a burial plot, but we are still short about $3,000 to finalize arrangements — giving him the dignified farewell he deserves. James is survived by his sisters, niece and great nephews.Any amount, no matter how small, will make a difference. If you can’t give, please share this with others. Your kindness will help us give my uncle the peace and respect he’s earned, and it will help lift a huge burden off my aunt during this heartbreaking time.
From the bottom of our hearts — thank you.
