Our family is deeply saddened by the unexpected loss of James “Blake” Buteaux, who passed away without insurance. He was hit on the Avery Island Rd in New Iberia, LA in front of his residence. It was a hit and run. He was left there. We were not prepared for this physically or financially.
Blake was hardheaded and stronger than anyone I knew, but he was a gentle man. He was soft spoken and timid most of the time, and he kept us on our toes. His presence brought comfort and stability to our family, and his loss has left us distraught and at a loss for words. It’s hard to believe that anyone who considers themselves a decent human could just leave someone hurt on the side of the road.
We are trying to raise funds for a simple, dignified burial for Blake. Any contribution or sharing of this message helps our family tremendously during this difficult time. We truly appreciate it.
