Help Lay Gershad Andre to Rest
A Life Taken Too Soon
It is with profound sadness and heavy hearts that we share the devastating loss of Gershad Andre, a beloved son, brother, partner, and friend who was tragically taken from us in a horrific car accident on Friday morning, November 21, 2025. Gershad was a passenger in the vehicle and did not survive. Our hearts go out to the families of the two other young men who also lost their lives in this tragic accident.
About Gershad
Gershad, affectionately known as “Shaddy” to his friends, was a 33-year-old young man from Wilmington, Delaware, who touched the lives of everyone he met. He was a graduate of Dickinson High School and was building a life filled with love and hope for the future.
Those who knew Gershad remember his infectious smile, his kind heart, and his unwavering loyalty to his family and friends. As his brother Gerard wrote in tribute: “It just breaks my heart that I lost a brother Friday morning. I still can’t believe that this has happened. When you lose one of your siblings, that hits differently.”
A Story of Strength and Redemption
Gershad had been courageously battling addiction and was making incredible progress in his recovery journey. He was determined to turn his life around, and those close to him witnessed his strength and commitment to becoming the best version of himself. He was winning that battle and had so much to live for.
A Father-to-Be
Perhaps most heartbreaking is that Gershad was expecting his third child—a beautiful baby who is now 6 months along. He was excited about becoming a father again and was looking forward to welcoming his little one into the world. His partner, Julie Milia, and their unborn baby have lost someone irreplaceable. His children, Nevaeh and Gershad Jr., will truly miss their father.
A Family’s Grief
Gershad’s mother, Mikita Jackson, is devastated beyond words. No parent should have to bury their child. She is facing the unimaginable task of laying her beloved son to rest, and the financial burden of funeral and memorial expenses is overwhelming during this time of profound grief.
Gershad is preceded in death by his father, Gerard Andre Jr. He leaves behind his brothers Gerard Andre, Ahmal Jackson, Pennywell, and Edward Taylor, his sister Miracle Taylor, along with countless family members and friends whose lives he touched.
How You Can Help
We are raising $10,000 to help Mikita give Gershad the dignified farewell he deserves. These funds will cover:
• Funeral service expenses
• Burial costs
• Memorial arrangements
• Support for his family during this difficult time
The Outpouring of Love
The tributes pouring in from Gershad’s community speak volumes about the impact he had. We also remember and honor the two other young men who tragically lost their lives in the same accident, and we extend our deepest condolences to their families during this impossibly difficult time.
Every Contribution Matters
No donation is too small. Whether you can contribute $5 or $500, every bit helps ease the financial burden on Gershad’s grieving family. If you cannot donate, please share this campaign with your network and keep the Andre family in your prayers.
Rest in Peace, Gershad Andre
