Help Lay Dennis Dungo Ilog to Rest

Donation protected
My name is John Durand and my life partner is Shirley Dungo Ilog. Two months ago, Shirley lost her younger sister to Lupus, then 2 weeks later her only son died by suicide. Shirley and her son were very close, and Dennis was a great source of support for his mom during her own tribulations with Cancer. When her sister died, she was cremated and buried with their father at a local San Diego cemetery. Her father was buried back in 1997 in a coffin. He was not cremated. The family bought and paid for a lawn crypt and full interment rights. It is double dept so the father could be buried below and up to 6 other family members' cremated ashes in urns can be on top. This is a standard lawn crypt with unlimited interment rights. When her sister was buried the new owners of this cemetery charged what seemed to be an excessive burial fee but when we reached out to make arrangements for the burial of the cremated remains of her son, the new management said my girlfriend had to pay entirely new interment rights of $7,500.00 plus another $3,441.50 just to bury the urn!!! The new management lied multiple times saying what the contract stated and claimed inexistant limitations even though THEY EVENTUALLY ADMITTED NOT EVEN HAVING A COPY OF THE ORIGINAL CONTRACT. We have the original contract, and NOTHING stipulates any limits. This new management used lies and pressure tactics to try to scam grieving families into paying them undue amounts of money. This is the most despicable type of scam. But to this day we cannot lay to rest her son because the new management of the cemetery will not respect the original contract. This should be criminal and perhaps it is but all we want is to bury her son with his aunt and grandfather. Dennis Dungo Ilog passed away August 10th, 2025, and we need to lay him to rest as soon as possible and provide the family with solace and a place to mourn their lost loved one. The family is spread across many states and cities, and we have told them to come for the burial on November 8th, 2025, for they need to plan for this trip and grieve as a family. Should we raise more than the $11,000.00 needed for the burial we intend to use the money to cover some family members with help with their travel costs and most importantly take action against the new management of the cemetery to stop them from perpetrating this scam on other grieving families. We thank you for any help and support you may be able to provide. God bless.
