As many of you know, my beloved grandmother, Delores Gasca, has passed away. The last four years of her life were not easy. She faced not only health challenges but also heartbreaking financial hardship caused by the betrayal of her first, fourth and fifth born child. For legal reasons, I cannot share names, but this situation left her stripped of her home, personal belongings, and financial security.
In December 2023, she was evicted from the home she and my grandfather built from the ground up—a home constructed by their fourth born child, who lived next door as their neighbor, and who was compensated with their hard-earned money. After my grandfather’s passing, life insurance policies and accounts were mishandled, signatures were forged, and debts were created in her name without her knowledge. Despite fighting in court to reclaim what was rightfully hers, she ultimately lost her home and was left with nothing.
Through all of this, my grandmother remained resilient, full of love, and devoted to her family. My mother and I have been by her side, doing everything we could to support her financially and emotionally, but the costs have been overwhelming.
Now that she has passed, I am asking for help—something that is not easy for me to do. My greatest wish is to honor her memory by giving her the funeral she deserves and bringing her home to Kansas City to rest beside my grandfather. Unfortunately, the expenses for her funeral and transportation are more than I can manage on my own.
Any contribution, no matter the size, would mean the world to me and our family. Your support will ensure that my grandmother is laid to rest with dignity and love.
Thank you for reading, sharing, and supporting us during this incredibly difficult time.
