Dejon Latrell Akins was born December 14, 2000 to Kareesa Campbell and Dywand Akins. He attended Benjamin Banneker for elementry Charter Academy for middle school and graduated from Southeast High School in 2019. DeJaey was very smart handsome, respectful and mannerable. He was always willing to learn and teach. He was a straight A student he hepled his schoolmates when needed. DEJAEY has a story for the world to know and now it’s time to let it be known. When Dejay was 16 something was wrong he wasnt feeling good to the point where he couldnt talk or walk his daddy got concrened and rushed him to Childrens Mercy. By the time he got to the hospital DeJaey had lost all mobility. The hospital decided to do cat scan on his brain found 11 puss pockets on his brain caused by a sinus infection. The decision was made to conduct an emergency brain surgery. He was scared we were scared we encouraged him to pray before they took him in the room telling him this will be his testimony because God is so good he will come out brand new. He nodded his head and agreed to pray. We waited for a few hours and the surgery was over. After a month or so DeJaey able to learn how to walk and talk again. Going into his Junior year was a stuggle but he never gave up he continued to be an honor roll student and a tutor to some of his friends. He graduated on time. He became a young man he kept a job he helped all family especially his Brothers and Sisters Aunties and Grandmas also his Mama and Pops. DeJaey was a people person and a family man. He was very outspoken never held his tongue or attitude. He was loved by many because he showed love to many. Please continue to say his name and sing his song Go DJ thats my DJ!!!
