My name is Rodney, and I am facing the unimaginable loss of my son, Davon D. Butler. In 2022, I lost my other son, Joshua Butler, after his battle with kidney failure. Just as I was trying to heal, Davon was diagnosed with the same condition. He fought bravely through open-heart surgery to repair his aortic valve, hoping to qualify for a kidney transplant. After a long and difficult journey, we finally received the call that a kidney was available, and his transplant was scheduled for November 20, 2025.

On November 17, when I went to wake Davon for dialysis, I found him unresponsive in his room. He had passed away just days before his life-changing surgery. The pain of losing another son is overwhelming, and I am now faced with the heartbreaking task of arranging another funeral, while still struggling to pay for Joshua’s funeral expenses from three years ago.
