$30 000 Target for expenses
It is with unimaginable heartbreak that we share the sudden and tragic passing of our beloved Darren at just 30 years old. Darren lost his life unexpectedly in an accident while living and working in Vermont, USA, on his H2B visa.
This devastating loss comes only three weeks after the passing of his father, who lost his long and courageous battle with small cell lung cancer. Our family is now facing the unimaginable — grieving the loss of both father and son within such a short space of time.
Darren was a kind, gentle, and funny soul who was selfless to his core — always putting others before himself. His laughter, his warmth, and his ability to light up any room will never be forgotten. He had a passion for skating in his younger years, which later grew into a love for playing pool. He was known for being obsessed with his coffee, and he constantly strived to push himself out of his comfort zone, explore the world, and create a better life for himself and those he loved.
Darren was deeply loved by so many and blessed with an incredibly supportive and close-knit family. He leaves behind his devoted mother, Debbie, and his brother, Sean, who are now facing the unimaginable pain of saying goodbye to a son and brother far too soon.
Darren was living and working in Vermont with his cousin, Chanté, who will now need to return home to South Africa to be with family and attend his funeral and return back there after. Additionally, should his mother, Debbie, choose to travel to the U.S. to accompany her son home, those costs would also need to be covered — adding to the already overwhelming financial burden. On top of the emotional devastation, the costs of repatriating Darren back to South Africa, paired with the difficult rand-to-dollar exchange rate, are significant and more than the family can bear alone.
We are humbly asking for help to assist with:
The cost of repatriating Darren’s body back to South Africa
Funeral and memorial expenses to give Darren the farewell he so deeply deserves
Travel expenses for his cousin, Chanté, to return home to be with family
Potential travel costs for his mom, Debbie, if she chooses to travel to the U.S. to accompany Darren home
No contribution is too small. Your generosity, kindness, and prayers will help lift this heavy burden from Darren’s family and allow us to bring him home with dignity, love, and the peace he deserves.
From the bottom of our hearts — thank you for your support, love, and compassion.
thank you to anyone that donates, may God bless you and, Darren I’ll miss you terribly best friend and Cuzzie ♥️
All my love, Chanté.
