My name is Latesha, and I am creating this fundraiser on behalf of my family after the devastating loss of my brother, Darius Chappell.

On July 3, 2026, our lives changed forever when my brother, Darius Chappell, passed away while in custody. He was only 34 years old and leaves behind three young sons, a loving mother, siblings, and countless family members and friends who are heartbroken by his loss.

As we grieve, we are also faced with the unexpected financial burden of laying Darius to rest. We have now received the funeral estimate, which totals $11,884. These expenses include his casket, burial vault, cemetery plot, transportation, and other funeral costs.

Beyond honoring Darius with the homegoing he deserves, our family is committed to seeking answers about what happened. We have retained legal representation, are preserving evidence, and are pursuing every available avenue to ensure the circumstances surrounding his death are thoroughly reviewed.

Every donation will help relieve the financial burden on our family so we can focus on honoring Darius and caring for the loved ones he leaves behind. Any funds received beyond funeral expenses will be used for expenses directly related to this process and to support his three sons.
