On February 4, 2026, my husband, Fred Wong died suddenly. He was (is) the love of my life for the past 25 years. He worked hard for those he loved and gave the shirt off his back if someone needed it. To describe the hurt and pain I am having to endure cannot be described.

Fred was born in the Philippines on Christmas Eve, 1980. After emigrating to the US in 1991, his family built a life in Poway, CA. His love of his friends and wrestling led him to become state heavyweight champion in 1999.

After high school, he built a life as a coach and teacher, passing on his love of wrestling. His love led him to different communities, where he shared his knowledge and helped inspire others in wrestling and to believe in themselves, as much as he believed in them.

Wrestling gave him purpose but also joy. His eyes would light up when planning a tournament, coaching his kids or brainstorming for the next season.

While I shared him with the world, he was mine for twenty five years. I will remember his goofy humor, his love for cooking, the sweet way he would call me beautiful. His family will remember him for being a safe haven and the backbone of the family.

Although my heart is shattered and as our family and I try to navigate this incredibly difficult time, we're faced with not just the emotional pain of losing him, but also the financial challenges... Any amount, no matter how small, would mean the world to us and ease some of the burden we are carrying right now.
