My mom, Claire, was sick for a long time and was placed on hospice at the beginning of March. She declined rapidly, and just three weeks later, she passed away. I tried to see if she qualified for VA benefits, since my dad served, but I got word today that she does not. This has been a heartbreaking and overwhelming time for our family.

I just started working again and opened my business a few months before all of this happened, putting everything I had into it. On top of that, I am the sole provider for my three children. The financial strain has been immense, and I am doing everything I can to keep us afloat while trying to honor my mom’s memory.

The funds raised will go directly toward funeral expenses. All I’m asking for is enough to cover the basic package so I can give my mom a proper burial. I have an appointment with the cemetery on 4/17 and have chosen the least expensive option in hopes that I can lay her to rest.
