Chris Picone Gelpi was a loving mother, grandmother of three, and great-grandmother of three. She was known for her open heart and open door—always ready to welcome anyone in need of a meal, a place to rest, or simply some kindness. Chris loved to bake and cherished every moment spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her generosity and warmth touched everyone who knew her, and her home was a safe haven for friends, family, and anyone who needed support.

In the last six months, Chris faced significant health challenges, spending much of her time in and out of the hospital. On August 1, 2025, her heart and lungs finally gave out, and she passed away surrounded by loved ones. Her passing has left a deep void in our family, and we are now working to honor her memory and give her the farewell she deserves.

We are raising funds to help cover Chris’s funeral and burial expenses. Although she had a burial policy, it is over 60 years old and will only cover a small portion of the costs. Any support received will go directly toward giving Chris a proper goodbye. Our family is deeply grateful for any help during this difficult time.
