Last week Carrie Lee Keppler left this earth.  She was an amazing woman who brought laughter and joy to so, so many people.  She had a unique combination of wit, charm, keen intelligence, kindness, and a childlike wonder of the world.  Carrie could not bear to see anyone suffer.  Any time we would see someone homeless and in need, she would literally empty her wallet.  She would buy shoes or food for the homeless person outside the gas station.  I think helping others was easier for her than helping herself. 

Carrie belonged in a world that was kinder, gentler, and probably full of children.  She was always so alive when she would teach my son about nature, trees, bugs, and flowers.  She was star that lit up the world of those around her.  We will all struggle to find our way in the dark without her.

Now that she's gone, I'm looking to repay some of that kindness to her and her family who desperately need our help laying Carrie to rest.  As I'm sure many of you know, it's hard enough to say goodbye to a son or a daughter, but to do so without sufficient means is unbearable.  

Any contribution you can make to help say goodbye to Carrie would mean the world to her family and to myself.  We don't have much time to organize the arrangements, so the sooner we can contribute the better.  All proceeds will go directly toward Carrie's mother who is shouldered with this terrible burden.
