My name is Dajanaya Byfield and I come to you humbly asking for any help from anyone to help with funeral and burial services for my newborn child that passed away on May 19th, 2025.

Baby Makaiyla was my beautiful, vibrant baby girl whom my family and I were so excited to meet. Unfortunately, her life was cut short with her only getting to experience a mere 6 hours of life. None of us were expecting this at all. I experienced a happy and healthy pregnancy for 9 months, going to every doctor’s appointment, and every time, doctors told me my baby and I were healthy and thriving. Only for my world to come crashing down the day before I was due to give birth. I walked into the hospital to check on my pregnancy and everything took a turn for the worst. I was diagnosed with preeclampsia and rushed into an emergency C-section because Makaiyla's heart rate was low and decreasing rapidly. By the time the doctors got to my baby, it was too late. I found out I was supposed to give birth to my child 4 weeks ago. My baby was inside of me, not getting any air to her brain and was suffering. I am hurt, lost, confused, angry, ALL OF THE ABOVE. The doctor made the decision to let her go before I even got a chance to see my baby. This whole situation is very heartbreaking and traumatizing for me. I am currently healing and grieving and am pleading for any help that can be given.

Her father and I are looking for help and support in this time to lay our beautiful baby girl to rest. Anything will help and would be appreciated to make sure she has a wonderful service and burial. We thank you again for taking the time to hear our story.
