My name is Karissa Long and my fiancé’s stepdad, AJ “Doc” Stadelmeyer, unexpectedly passed away Friday, Feb. 13th, at Kingsbrook Nursing Home. Doc was an amazing person. He loved his wife, 3 kids (Kristian Rigsby, Katelyn Rigsby, and Frankie Rigsby), and their family pets. He was an athletic trainer for over 40 years for Ashland & UK KDMC, and an excellent health class teacher.
Arrangements have been made, but Jeanie & Doc weren’t expecting this, as most don’t, and they did not have a life insurance policy in place. We want Doc to be able to rest and be at peace, but funeral arrangements, cemetery services, and burial plots are expensive, and without any insurance, it’s almost impossible. His visitation will be Thursday( 2/19) evening 6-8 pm at Steen Funeral Home on 13th street in Ashland. Funeral service will be Friday (2/20)at 11 am.
