Help Laurie Rebuild Her Life!
Donation protected
In the early hours of October 8th, my mother-in-law, Laurie Kerns, woke up to her Coolville, OH home engulfed in flames. She had, thankfully, gone to sleep in her basement some hours before the fire started, instead of her bedroom in the upstairs loft area. This very likely saved her life! She was awoken by the smell of smoke, ran up the stairs to see her main floor in flames, grabbed her purse and keys, and ran back downstairs and out the basement door. The fire spread very quickly through the upper levels of her home. At this time, she has lost almost all of her furniture, clothes, and possessions.
Her charming barn style home has been her haven and refuge for the last six and a half years. She has loved having this little piece of beauty nestled in the trees, and that it is her own. Laurie has always had a project going on and something delicious baking in the oven. She has had many grandchildren and nieces and nephews playing endlessly in this home and around her property these past few years, where she has boasted beautiful and bountiful gardens, dozens of chickens, dogs, cats, and miniature horses. Thankfully, the pets she currently shares her home with were all safe.
She is now left to pick up the pieces and try to rebuild her life, and home, from scratch. Due to chronic medical issues, she is now disabled and on a very fixed income. This loss is incredibly devastating, and any amount of help given is needed and appreciated immensely!
All donations will be given directly to Laurie Kerns for any needs or expenses she may have as a result of this catastrophic event.
