Hi, my name is Georgia and I am starting a GoFundMe for my mom, Laurie Thibodeaux. On the 14th of April, my mom found out she has Metastatic Small Cell Lung Cancer, Stage 3B to Stage 4. With this news, shock and fear coursed through our families' veins, as each of us, grapple with the news.
My mom has been a beacon of hope, happiness, and love throughout any community she has been apart of. If you know her, you know her laugh, you know her cooking, you know her wit, her jokes, and you know her undeniable ability to seem 7 feet tall, while only being 5 feet. She is a proud and hardworking woman, having persevered through struggle most of her life with raising two kids as a single mother. My brother, Tico, and I have been blessed to have a parent like our Mom, fighting for us, our entire lives. She was there to make sure that each of us knew we were more than capable to achieve whatever we wanted. But she is not just TJ's and my mom, she's everyone's Mom.
We are asking for help with the upcoming financial struggle my Mom is going to be dealing with. My mom will start her treatment of Chemo soon, once the doctor's determine exactly where the cancer is in her body. Currently and hopefully, it is only in her lung and right shoulder.
My brother, Tico, has taken the helm of taking my mom to her appointments and being the person in the room that has things under control. As many of you know, medical bills are not cheap and they pile up quick. To go along with that, my Mom has been having to take off of work more frequently to make it to all the medical appointments she has. We need your help financially with paying these bills, and help prepare for what might come. The potential of having to quit work, and the help for any future costs that might arise from this illness.
Anything helps, please keep us in your thoughts, prayers, and hearts, as my Mom, and our family fight this battle. To show our love and appreciation, I will be gifting a personal artwork to each person that donates, as well as, my mom and I will be creating treats to show our appreciation.
