When going to the doctor back in October for joint pain, my good friend Laurie never expected to ultimately be diagnosed with stage 3 endometrial and uterine sarcoma cancers. This diagnosis has caused Laurie to be out of work as a teacher with the Haverford Township School District since her first surgery on November 27, 2019. Since that time she has had an additional surgery and exhausted all her paid leave by the beginning of January.
She is starting the next phase of her treatment, radiation therapy, and it is likely that she will need additional time off of work as a result. I would like Laurie to be able to focus on her recovery without the fear and stress of how losing her income may effect her family.
The Ardolines will have to contend with deductibles and co-pays on top of normal living expenses as well as putting their two children through Catholic School and their extra-curricular activities.
Both Laurie and Rob are so active in our community, whether it's teaching our children, coaching them in soccer or basketball, volunteering at both church and school, or just being wondful friends and neighbors. I am hopeful that our community will be able to help them out in their time of need.
