Meet Laurens—our wonderful, spirited boy who brings so much light into our lives. Behind his bright smile, Laurens navigates complex daily challenges. He lives with Aicardi-Goutières syndrome, a rare genetic disorder, and manages epilepsy as part of his medical journey. We are currently in the process of being approved for a specially trained assistance dog, a journey that will completely transform his safety, independence, and overall quality of life.

This isn’t just any dog. Once matched, this incredible companion will be trained as both an epilepsy alert dog, capable of forecasting seizures before they happen, and a therapy dog to support him through his day-to-day challenges and mobility needs. Having this loyal partner by his side means safety, comfort, and a new level of freedom for Laurens.

Because of the specialized, life-changing skills these dogs require, the total cost for the puppy, intensive specialized training, and ongoing support adds up to around 60,000 euros.
