As a Mom of a sweet, strong and courageous daughter who has battled with disease and chronic pain for 13 years, we are looking to send our daughter to Germany for medical treatments. Lauren has had 8 major surgeries, including a total colectomy, and over a hundred procedures due to her autoimmune disease.

She has not been able to eat or drink for months because her adhesions (scar tissue) have continued to grow in her intestines. When she eats, it causes immense pain, nausea, vomiting and is now causing her to have micro blockages in her bowels. She has a PICC line in her arm to receive some much needed fluids and nutrients, however, this is not a permanent solution.

She is battling chronic pain, vomiting, infections, various complications due to the increased abdominal adhesions these life-saving surgeries have caused.

Unfortunately, there are currently no American doctors that will help remove the adhesions from Lauren's abdomen safely. She has been told by every doctor and gastroenterologist that they will not operate on her to remove these adhesions until she goes septic again.

But by the grace of God, we found doctors in Germany that are willing to operate on her and give Lauren her life back. Using techniques and technology not available in the United States, they will be able to safely remove these adhesions and ensure they never come back. Unfortunately it’s a race against time and a challenge for her body to not get a major blockage and go septic again before she makes it to Germany.
